The Story
B BRAUN 4252535-02 INTROCAN SAFETY IV CATHETERS Catheter IV, Straight, Safety FEP, 20G x 1¼", 50/bx, 4 bx/cs
• Model: 4252535-02
• Size / Gauge / Length: 20G x 1-1/4"
• 50 Units/ Box
• 4 Boxes/ Case
This Introcan Safety 20 Ga × 1¼″ catheter by B. Braun is engineered for peripheral intravenous access when a mid‑sized gauge and moderate length are required—ideal for adult patients needing reliable flow rate without resorting to the largest bore catheters. The 20‑gauge size offers a balance between adequate infusion capacity and vein‐friendly insertion, while the 1¼″ (≈32 mm) length of the catheter supports deeper vein access and stable placement. The FEP polymer catheter material ensures structural integrity and durability, supporting fluid delivery with confidence.
Clinician safety and placement accuracy are central features of this device. The fully automatic passive safety shield deploys without user activation, reducing the risk of needlestick injuries and aligning with occupational‐health best practices. Complementing this, the “Double Flashback” technology provides dual visual cues—one when the needle accesses the vessel, and another when the catheter advances—giving the clinician increased confidence in placement and reducing the likelihood of repeated attempts or complications.
From a materials and operational perspective, the 4252535‑02 model meets modern institutional standards for device safety and supply‑chain efficiency. The absence of latex, DEHP and PVC supports allergy‐sensitive patient populations and facilities with hazardous material or plasticizer reduction initiatives. The packaging quantity (50 per box, 4 boxes per case) supports streamlined stocking in high‐throughput areas. Overall, this catheter offers a strong combination of performance, safety and practicality for routine to moderately demanding IV access workflows.
A passive safety device sign that deploys automatically and cannot be by-passed. Designed to protect against accidental needlestick injuries to both clinicians and patients. New universal bevel allows for a wider choice of insertion angles to enhance flexibility and patient comfort.
