The Story
DePuy Mitek GRYPHON® P BR | BIOCRYL® RAPIDE™ | #2 ORTHOCORD® | 210814 | BX/1
The DePuy Mitek 210814 (GRYPHON® P BR) is a state-of-the-art absorbable suture anchor designed for high-demand arthroscopic soft tissue-to-bone reattachment. Constructed from BIOCRYL® RAPIDE™, a proprietary biocomposite blend of PLGA (Poly-L-lactic-co-glycolic acid) and TCP (Tricalcium Phosphate), this anchor provides an osteoconductive scaffold that encourages bony ingrowth as the anchor is absorbed over a 2–3 year period.
The "P" designation signifies a Pro-active thread-in design that provides exceptional rotational stability and pull-out strength, even in the limited bone density often encountered in the glenoid or acetabular rim. Preloaded with #2 ORTHOCORD®, this system provides the ultimate combination of high-tensile strength and superior knot-tying characteristics.
Key Specifications
-
Manufacturer: DePuy Mitek (Johnson & Johnson)
-
Model / REF: 210814
-
Anchor Material: BIOCRYL® RAPIDE™ (Biocomposite PLGA/TCP)
-
Absorption Profile: Bio-absorbable (Osteoconductive)
-
Suture Type: #2 ORTHOCORD® (Violet, 36")
-
Suture Composition: High-strength Polyethylene + PDS (Polydioxanone)
-
Fixation Method: Thread-In / Push-In Hybrid
-
Quantity: Single Sterile Unit (Preloaded on Inserter)
Technical & Clinical Advantages
-
Osteoconductive Absorption: The inclusion of Tricalcium Phosphate (TCP) in the BIOCRYL® RAPIDE™ matrix helps neutralize the local pH during absorption and provides a mineral scaffold that promotes natural bone replacement of the anchor site.
-
Small Profile, High Torque: The GRYPHON® design is optimized for narrow anatomical footprints, such as the glenoid labrum or the acetabular rim in the hip. Despite its small diameter, the threaded ribs provide massive surface area for cortical and cancellous fixation.
-
ORTHOCORD® Suture Performance: Unlike standard UHMWPE sutures, ORTHOCORD® contains a PDS component that makes the suture more pliable and easier on the surgeon's hands, while maintaining a higher tensile strength than standard #2 braided polyester.
-
Internal Suture Channeling: The anchor features a "low-friction" internal eyelet design. This allows the suture to slide effortlessly during knot tensioning, reducing the risk of suture "binding" or "fraying" within the anchor body.
-
Integrated Delivery System: Each anchor comes preloaded on a disposable, high-torque inserter, ensuring a streamlined "pick-up and play" workflow during complex arthroscopic procedures.
Applications
-
Shoulder: Bankart repair, SLAP lesion repair, and capsulolabral reconstruction.
-
Hip: Acetabular labral repair and capsular closure.
-
Small Joint: Ligamentous augmentation and soft tissue reattachment in high-tension zones.
Condition & Quality Assurance
-
Status: New – Factory Sealed.
-
Integrity: This item is in pristine condition, contained within its original, double-sterile peel-pack from DePuy Mitek. The internal biocomposite anchor and ORTHOCORD® suture are untouched and ready for clinical or educational use.
-
Professional Standards: With over 25 years of experience in surgical services, Primis Medical ensures all orthopedic implants are stored in climate-controlled environments to protect the integrity of biocomposite materials.
Shipping & Handling
-
Secure Logistics: Shipped in a rigid, crush-resistant container to protect the preloaded inserter and the sterile barrier.
-
Fast Dispatch: Ships within 1 business day.
