The Olympus ESG-400 electrosurgical generator, the USG-400 ultrasonic generator, and monopolar single and dual footswitches. The system is the only surgical tissue management system that delivers every common form of energy used in surgery today (monopolar, bipolar, ultrasonic, and advanced bipolar), as well as the revolutionary combination of advanced bipolar and ultrasonic energies. The ESG-400 universal HF generator provides you with unrivalled resection power as well as access to surgical tissue management technology in the future and offers maximum performance,  safety, and simplicity for all your surgical HF applications. The USG-400 provides you with unrivalled ultrasonic technology access for open and laparoscopic applications and offers the well-proven benefits of ultrasonic energy. The Olympus EPF‑1 Surgical Tissue Management System delivers a truly universal energy platform by integrating monopolar, bipolar, ultrasonic, advanced bipolar, and hybrid (advanced bipolar + ultrasonic) energy modalities into a single, streamlined generator system. It comprises two primary units: the ESG‑400 electrosurgical generator (supporting monopolar and bipolar modes) and the USG‑400 ultrasonic generator. Combined, they eliminate the need for multiple standalone generators in the operating room, reducing equipment footprint and simplifying staff training and workflow.

The system is thoughtfully packaged with a dedicated energy cart, which houses both generators in a compact, mobile tower design with cable management and a touchscreen interface for easy parameter control. Included are both single‑ and dual‑pedal footswitches (monopolar-only and dual-function variants) that enable ergonomic, hands-free switching between energy modes and precise control during surgery. The plug-and-play setup paired with intuitive touchscreen operation supports flexibility across surgical specialties.

Clinically, EPF‑1 empowers surgical teams to use Olympus’s full suite of energy instruments—such as THUNDERBEAT (advanced bipolar + ultrasonic), SONICBEAT (ultrasonic only), and PK® technology (advanced bipolar)—all driven by a unified platform.THUNDERBEAT enables fast, precise cutting with reliable 7 mm vessel sealing; SONICBEAT offers economic ultrasonic dissection with strong grasping; and PK technology delivers controlled coagulation and transection for GYN and general surgical applications. Together, they provide superior surgical efficiency, workflow optimization, and performance versatility with reduced instrument exchange and OR clutter.
