Design & Safety Mechanisms
The Magellan™ insulin safety syringe features a permanently attached 29-gauge, ½-inch stainless steel needle alongside a built-in sliding safety shield. This safety device can be activated with one hand via intuitive finger or thumb pressure and emits an audible and tactile “click” once engaged, ensuring secure needle coverage during and after use. The integrated safety structure aligns with OSHA standards to minimize the risk of accidental needlestick injuries to clinicians, patients, and downstream workers.

This 0.5 mL (50‑unit U‑100) syringe is constructed for precise insulin delivery, with bold, unobstructed graduation marks that enhance visibility and reduce dosage errors. The low-dead-space needle design significantly reduces medication waste, which is particularly crucial when administering small-volume or high-concentration insulin doses. Its bevel orientation—designed so the needle bevel is upward when the safety shield is up—aims to minimize changes to user technique.

Crafted from sterile, polypropylene components, and free of both latex and DEHP, the Magellan™ syringe supports single-use protocols and reduces allergenic exposure risks.  It’s available in a box of 50 syringes, with cases of 10 boxes (totaling 500 units), catering to high-volume environments like hospitals, diabetes clinics, and long-term care settings.
